An all day interactive stage welcomes music by Radio Free Carmella and the Transmitters and Not Tuna, play a game of Green Jeopardy, win free cool green raffle prizes every hour, take a nature trail tour, paint a rain barrel, design an earth flag, build a bird house, get your face painted, get to know new people and celebrate Earth Day in a great way.
Take a tour on Bernard The Bus, Sarasota's own veggie fueled, eco education, green school bus, http://www.bernardthebus.com learn how to sprout, get info about your local organic farms, check out electric and hybrid cars, or just kick back and fly a kite.
Bring your old cell phones and ink cartridges for the New Gate fundraising and recycling drive.
Everyone will take home some new seeds to grow and share in their personal garden of sustainability. This is the most important opportunity all year to honor and connect with the ambassadors of the world, children!
As environmental awareness grows worldwide, more and more communities are learning how to grow green. New Gate school takes the lead in Sarasota and steps up to offer this celebration as a connection for stewardship and responsibility, green business networking and to be a model learning institution for teaching youth about the importance of being green.
The event is 10am-4pm. Set up is at 8am. Take advantage of this opportunity to get active and involved as a VegSarasota GreenTeam member and volunteer to help share some green love at Earth Day in your community!
