FAQ

future

This is the area of the site where we dream. Dreaming is what got us to this point, and we want to continue to evolve and improve this site so that visiting it over and over always pays off.

Home Made Meals
We’ d like to add user-submitted recipes. These would be items made in your kitchen, that you’ ve recently tried and liked. There are lots of recipes out there, but personally recommended ones that are timely and relevant to the season, or what you picked up at the local veggie stand this week would be all the more useful. We would post our own and accept submissions. We also take pictures of lots of our meals and it would be nice to have them on the site with the recipes. After all, the visual impact of a dish is a very important aspect when considering a new recipe.

Personal Stories of Transition
We also would like to hear your story of adopting a more conscious, cruelty free diet. One of the things we’ ve realized over the years is that everyone has their own reasons, motivations, pitfalls and triumphs as they change such a major part of their life such as diet. We would eventually like to take these and post them on the site so that they can inspire others to move along on their own journey. So whether you’re just beginning to transition to a veg friendly diet, or have been for your entire life, think about your story and feel free to email it to one of the staff, we’d like to read it and will gladly save it and post it if and when we open this area of the site.

Cruelty Free Product Resources
One of the more difficult aspects to those just learning are thinking outside of their dinner plate when it comes to the reduction of animal suffering. There are a lot of companies out there that produce and market animal-free products to eat, wear, and otherwise consume. Just think, if you can get a nice belt or pair of shoes without having to harm an animal, why not consider it. It is a good step to take so we’d like to provide information to help folks find those companies.

Nutrition Concerns
Expanding on the summarized info in the FAQ, we’d like to provide more extensive resources. Anyone who’s ever told someone that they are vegetarian has likely been asked the same questions. Such as “Where do you get protein?” and the like. There are lots of common questions like this that the average veg will hear over and over, so we’d like to provide in-depth information to those asking them, and to those who will be faced with answering them. We’d like to add a special resource page for learning about how to get a balanced diet while still eating veg. Things like getting the right balance and amounts of all the different vitamins, minerals, and proteins. Information and articles on current research into the dietary affects of eating animal products, benefits of eating a vegetarian - vegan diet etc. From the simple to the complex, we’ d like to provide resources for whatever level you may wish to learn to. Something that we strongly believe is that someone conscious of their diet needs to pay attention to what their body needs. This will benefit the body. More importantly though, it will reinforce daily the choice of diet because you’ll know you’re educated, and that is a powerful thing.

Further Dietary Considerations
This section will raise dietary issues that are related to, but not exclusively related to vegetarianism. These topics are ones that a particular person may choose to be concerned with or not. Again, it all about just learning what is out there and making a conscious decision one way or another, instead of just not knowing.

Some of these dietary concerns related to vegetarianism can initially get overlooked. After all, it can be difficult enough dropping the diet accepted by such a vast majority of Americans, but these things are worth learning about. (each of these would link to a brief article about the pros/'cons of these methods)

We must stress that including these concerns in your daily habits is a personal choice, and represent only one possible path, and there are limitless other paths.
